Panopto Guide: Introduction to Panopto

Introduction to Panopto

Introduction to Panopto

Panopto is a software-based lecture capture solution that allows SMHS faculty to record lectures for their students. Panopto’s lecture capture software simultaneously records and synchronizes video, audio, slides, screen capture, electronic white boards, and more. Additionally you may record formal lectures, campus events, classroom activities, and informal presentations from your home or office.

All classrooms in Ross Hall and Himmelfarb Library are equipped with microphones and the Panopto software so that you can record your lecture's audio and sync that with your slide presentation.  If you wish to have video capture, contact classroom services (202-994-2856) for assistance.

Additionally, you may also install the Panopto recorder on any computer or laptop. Your lectures are instantly available to your students through Blackboard shortly after you finish recording.
